Introduction
Welcome to DoxMAP. We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal data. This
privacy policy explains how we handle information when you use our mind-mapping application across
iOS, Android, and the web.
Information We Collect
DoxMAP is designed with privacy as a core principle:
- Mind Map Data: All maps you create are stored locally on your device. If you
choose to use the optional sync feature, map data is stored in Firebase Firestore under your
sync code session. We do not access or review your map content.
- Sync Code: If you enable sync, a unique code is used to associate your maps
across devices. This code does not contain personally identifiable information.
- Purchase Information: When you make in-app purchases, Apple or Google processes
the payment. We only receive confirmation that a purchase was made, not your payment details or
personal information.
- Device Information: We may collect basic device information for app
functionality and crash reporting to improve the app experience.
- Usage Data: We may collect anonymous, non-identifiable usage data (e.g.,
feature usage frequency) to improve the app. This data never includes your map content.
Mind Map Storage
Your mind maps are stored in the following ways depending on your settings:
- Local Storage: Maps are saved on your device. We have no access to locally
stored maps.
- Firebase Sync (Optional): If you enable sync using a Sync Code, your maps are
stored in Firebase Firestore to allow real-time collaboration across your devices. This feature
requires an internet connection.
- No Server Storage by Default: Without sync enabled, no map data leaves your
device.
Firebase and Real-Time Sync
When you choose to use the optional sync feature:
- Map data is transmitted securely to Google Firebase Firestore
- Data is associated with your Sync Code, not your personal identity
- Transmissions are encrypted in transit using TLS
- Google Firebase's data handling policies apply to synced data
- Sync is optional and requires your explicit activation
For details on Firebase data handling, please review Google Firebase's Privacy
Policy.
How We Use Your Information
We use the limited information we collect to:
- Provide and maintain the DoxMAP application
- Enable optional real-time sync across devices via Sync Code
- Process your subscription purchases through Apple's or Google's payment systems
- Improve app performance and fix bugs
- Respond to your support requests
Data Storage and Security
Your map data is stored:
- Locally: On your device in the app's secure container
- Firebase (Optional Sync): If sync is enabled, maps are stored in Firebase
Firestore using Google's encryption and security infrastructure
- No Additional Server Storage: We do not store your map data on our own servers
Third-Party Services
DoxMAP uses the following services:
- Google Firebase: For optional real-time sync (governed by Google's Privacy
Policy)
- Apple App Store / Google Play: For app distribution and in-app purchases
- StoreKit / Google Play Billing: For in-app purchases and subscriptions
Data Sharing
We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information or map data to third parties. We do not
share your mind maps or personal information with anyone. Your data remains private and accessible
only to you (and anyone you share your Sync Code with).
Your Rights and Choices
You have the right to:
- Access your data: All your maps are stored on your device and are accessible
to you at any time
- Delete your data: You can delete individual maps or uninstall the app to
remove all local data. Synced data can be cleared by generating a new Sync Code.
- Control sync: Enable or disable sync at any time in the app settings
- Cancel subscriptions: Cancel your subscription at any time through the App
Store or Google Play
Data Retention
- Local map data: Retained until you delete it or uninstall the app
- Synced map data: Retained in Firebase while your Sync Code is active
- Purchase history: Maintained by Apple or Google in accordance with their
policies
Children's Privacy
DoxMAP is a general-purpose productivity tool. We do not knowingly collect personal information from
children under 13 years of age. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information,

DoxMAP can be used worldwide. Local map data stays on your device. When using the optional sync
feature, data may be processed by Google Firebase in the United States in accordance with Google's
data handling policies.
